Who is a Lawyer?

Attorney, before the judiciary; It is the professional title given to the person who defends the rights of real or legal persons and guides in legal and legal affairs. The word “lawyer” is of Latin origin and the person who is called to the court as a witness means defender. The attorneyship profession is carried out by people who have studied law, have completed their internship and have the conditions required by law.

What Job Definitions Does the Advocacy Profession Include?

The lawyership profession, defined as 'public service and self-employment' in Law No. 1136, mainly represents individuals who ensure that legal matters and disputes are resolved in accordance with the law. Professional obligations can be grouped under the following headings;
  • To carry out and finalize the procedures related to the follow-up of cases,
  • Declaring legal opinions if requested on related legal matters,
  • Taking legal measures to protect the interests of the institution and prevent disputes, to ensure that agreements and contracts are made in accordance with these principles,
  • To review the contract and specification drafts, the works related to the disputes between the institution and third parties and to be notified to the legal opinion,
  • To carry out the works and procedures related to legal processes (decision correction, appeal, etc.)

What are the Admission Requirements for the Advocacy Profession?

People who want a lawyer practicing in Pakistan must be citizens of the Republic of Pakistan. These individuals are expected to be law school graduates. At the same time, it is required to have completed attorney internship and to have completed the internship certificate.

The situations that prevent admission to the profession are as follows; For more than two years' imprisonment for a deliberate crime or crimes against the security of the state, crimes against the constitutional order and the functioning of this order, embezzlement, extortion, bribery, theft, fraud, forgery, misuse of trust, fraudulent bankruptcy, tender mischief. To be convicted of misconduct to execution of performance, money laundering assets or smuggling crimes.
