Animation World:

You don’t have to be a cartoonist to have animation be a big part of your life. Animation is everywhere in our homes, schools, work, and everywhere there’s a screen. And if you grew up in the modern country, chances are you’ve witnessed seminal accomplishments in animation history without even knowing it.

These works marked important milestones in animation, an art form that continuously challenges its creators to push technology so that anything that can be imagined can also be brought to life. Animation, while often thought of as a more or less modern medium, has been being used in different forms since 1906.

MAGIC LANTERN:

The Magic Lantern is an image projector using pictures on sheets of glass. Since some sheets contain moving parts, it is considered the first example of projected animation.

Why Animation is Important:

Animation is important because it makes us be able to tell stories and communicate emotions and ideas in a unique, easy-to-perceive way that both small children and adults can understand.

Animation has helped connect people throughout the world in a way that sometimes writing and live-action films cannot. Today, anyone can pick up a drawing tablet and show their ideas to the world.

Drawn figures can be funny, or make something sad or serious have a playful, less intimidating feel to it to make the viewer feel more comfortable.

Animated pictures have always captured our imagination. It’s perhaps this curiosity and enthusiasm, which has led to so many dramatic changes in the animation industry, in such a short period of time.
